Terms & Legal
Last updated: May 2026. These terms govern access to and use of the HIVE Intelligence platform, a product of Impact Analytics Australia.
1. Intellectual Property
HIVE Intelligence is a product of Impact Analytics Australia. All platform design, software, data synthesis, analysis, visualisations, AI-generated content, and compiled datasets are the intellectual property of Impact Analytics Australia and are protected under Australian copyright law.
HIVE draws on publicly available publications from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW), Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI), Housing Australia, the Department of the Treasury, and the Productivity Commission. Copyright in those underlying works remains with their respective owners. Use of those works within HIVE does not imply endorsement by any government body or research institution.
2. Subscription Licence
Access to HIVE is granted under a personal, non-transferable subscription licence to the named subscriber or subscribing organisation. Your subscription does not transfer ownership of any platform content, data, or intellectual property.
Permitted use. Subscribers may use platform outputs โ including analysis, charts, synthesised findings, and data exports โ in internal documents, board reports, grant applications, policy submissions, presentations, and briefings produced by and for your organisation.
Prohibited use. The following are expressly prohibited without prior written consent from Impact Analytics Australia: redistribution or resale of platform outputs to third parties; incorporation of platform data into a competing product or service; sharing login credentials; automated scraping or bulk export of data; and use of platform content in commercially published works where HIVE analysis constitutes a primary or featured component.
3. Attribution
When referencing specific statistics or data in published work, we recommend citing the underlying source alongside HIVE โ for example: "Source: ABS Building Approvals, Cat. 8731.0, via HIVE Intelligence (Impact Analytics Australia)." This ensures academic and professional integrity while correctly attributing both the primary data source and the synthesis platform.
4. No Professional Advice
Content on this platform is provided for informational and research support purposes only. It does not constitute financial, legal, investment, planning, or any other form of professional advice. Nothing on HIVE should be relied upon as the sole basis for any material decision.
Subscribers are responsible for independently verifying data, applying professional judgement, and obtaining appropriate expert advice before acting on any information provided by the platform.
5. Accuracy & Data Currency
While Impact Analytics Australia endeavours to ensure platform content is accurate, current, and sourced from reputable publications, no warranty is made as to the completeness, accuracy, timeliness, or fitness for purpose of any data, analysis, or synthesis. Underlying government datasets are updated periodically; platform data may not reflect the most recent release at all times. Users should check primary sources where currency is critical.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Australian law, Impact Analytics Australia and its directors, employees, and contractors exclude all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from access to or use of this platform โ including reliance on any analysis, data, visualisation, or AI-generated synthesis. This exclusion applies regardless of whether such loss was foreseeable or whether Impact Analytics Australia was advised of the possibility of such loss.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes arising from use of this platform will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
8. Contact & Licensing Enquiries
For subscription enquiries, commercial licensing, partnership proposals, or to request written consent for extended use of platform outputs, please contact us via the Impact Analytics Australia website.
These terms were prepared for internal use and do not constitute legal advice. Impact Analytics Australia recommends periodic review by a qualified Australian commercial solicitor, particularly prior to onboarding enterprise subscribers.
